The blade removes the stratum corneum (the dead cell layer sitting on top of healthy skin) along with vellus hair. There is no cutting, no scraping, and no discomfort beyond a light brushing sensation.

Does dermaplaning hurt?

Will my hair grow back thicker or darker after dermaplaning?
No. This is one of the most common misconceptions about dermaplaning. Vellus hair is structurally different from terminal hair — it grows back at the same thickness, color, and rate as before the treatment. Dermaplaning does not change the hair follicle or growth pattern.
How often should I get dermaplaning?

Who should not get dermaplaning?
